IAG
Speaker Bio
Peter fostered his love of hi-fi speakers as a teenager, experimenting by building drive units into cabinets of his own design. After finishing his education at Plymouth University, he worked in the hi-fi retail trade in London before reviewing hi-fi products for all the major hi-fi magazines in the UK. In 1979, Peter co-founded Heybrook Hi-Fi to design and manufacture the multi-award winning HB1 and classic HB2 loudspeakers, gradually building the brand to gain enormous respect in the global marketplace. After selling his share in the company, Peter spent two years helping to introduce NXT technology into the Asian market and then joined Mission as Director of Acoustic Design in 1999. At Mission he was responsible for the award-winning 780 and 782 models, among many other popular speakers, culminating in the Elegante E8 range and the high-end Pilastro. Peter re-joined Mission – now under the auspices of IAG – in 2009, assuming overall acoustic design responsibility for all of the brands within the Group. With a deep respect for the history of these brands and the necessity to maintain each individual brand’s design integrity, Peter continues to design award-winning speakers at IAG’s research centres in Huntingdon, England and Shenzhen, China.
